Altoona Chiropractor : Dr. Jeff Christensen

Chiropractic wellness care is the foundation of raising our six children.

Dr. Jeff ChristensenI was drawn to chiropractic because of my interest in natural healing.  As a college student majoring in health sciences, the idea that the body heals itself made a lot of sense.  The deeper into study that I went the stronger that desire and curiosity grew.  I had no idea that chiropractic was based on this principle.  It was my experience that chiropractic was for back pain.  How did chiropractic enhance a person's healing powers?  I had to find out.  So I enrolled in chiropractic college.

I chose to attend Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota.  I was thrilled to see how in depth our study of the human body was going to be.  Two years of anatomy courses and the cadaver lab were amazing.  The most challenging courses were in neurology.  Our nervous system is the dispatcher of all body systems and their functions.  I guess that explains why those classes were so challenging.  The course work in the first two years of chiropractic school is the same as the first two years of medical school.  Then it starts to specialize into the areas that make chiropractic a different approach to healing.

Altoona Family Chiropractic's Vision

Our practice goal is to tell everyone we meet what chiropractic can do for their family's health.  It is important that people understand the seriousness of a spinal subluxation.  We want our practice members to understand that our adjustments remove the nerve interference caused by spinal bones that are misaligned,  and  by correcting that misalignment  the nerve messages can travel uninterrupted.  Having a nervous system free of interference ensures that your body can function at its optimal level.

Sports and dance are important to the Christensen family.  Having six children means that's a very busy family life.

Our family gets checked for spinal misalignment every week to make sure that our body's are functioning optimally.  Our children have been adjusted their entire lives and are rarely sick.  It is important to teach children that their health comes from inside their own body.  Not from the medicine cabinet.  Chiropractic care, exercise, and a healthy diet are the foundation to great health for all ages.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Christensen Asks some important questions of interest to Altoona residents - Chiropractor Altoona Dr. Christensen Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Altoona is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
